Touro’s New York School of Career and Applied Studies

As a child growing up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Remi Feintuch watched as her teenage brother battled cancer. It was his experiences with his physical therapist (PT) that made Remi realize that this was the career path she wanted to pursue. “My eyes were opened to this amazing career that not only lets you have an impact on people physically but also allows for a much deeper relationship with your patients when they need you most,” she says.
Spending so much time in the hospital visiting her brother made Remi appreciate the hard work and dedication of the healthcare professionals. Though she has not decided on a specialty yet (sports, pediatrics, and pelvic floor health are all of interest), the most important thing to Remi is to be that person helping others and having a positive impact on their lives.
Remi chose to move to New York City to attend Touro, first as an undergraduate student at NYSCAS before applying and enrolling in the DPT program at the School of Health Sciences of Touro University. “I chose Touro because I value creating strong relationships with my professors and I knew that with the smaller class sizes at both the undergrad and grad level, I would be able to do just that,” she says. “I wanted to have the chance to create lifelong relationships with my professors and peers, which is exactly the environment that is embodied at Touro. Creating relationships with your professors is not something that happens everywhere. The professionals here at Touro are so passionate about making us the most equipped future physical therapists in the field.”
