Elected as a Civil Court Judge in 2016, Rachel (Ruchie) Freier, (Lander College ’01; Brooklyn College, ‘05), became the first Chassidic woman to be elected to public office in U.S. history. She advocates for poor and at-risk youth in her community and founded Ezras Nashim, an all-female Orthodox Jewish volunteer ambulance service.
