The Jew's Role in the Modern World
Dr. Kadish's online talk to help inspire you this Elul.
As part of the Afikim Foundation's ProjectSinai.org Elul programming, Dr. Alan Kadish will give an interactive online lecture on the Jew's Role in the Modern World.
The Jew's Role in the Modern World: As Jewish people, we must ask ourselves whether it is enough to focus our service efforts internally, serving our friends, family, and Jewish community, or whether we must engage with and influence world societies as well. Philosophers, communal leaders, and halachic authorities from our shared intellectual tradition have delved into this fundamental question from our unique religious perspective. In addition to discussing these positions, the talk will develop a coherent view outlining the scope and range of this prerogative and how we can effectively balance and incorporate these priorities into our everyday observance.
Dr. Alan Kadish, President and Chief Executive Officer of Touro, the largest Jewish sponsored educational institution in the United States, is an accomplished research scientist as well as a seasoned educator.
