Introduction to Python for Data Analytics
320 West 31st Street, New York, NY 10001
Python is a high-level, general purpose programming language designed to facilitate data analytics and integrate systems more efficiently.
Professor Sarina Lim of the Touro College Graduate School of Technology presents an overview and hands-on coding workshop with no programming experience necessary.
You will:
- learn about creating code in Python for data analysis—clean, reformat, and analyze data in a more advanced, faster, and easier way than you would be able to do using Excel.
- get an overview about open-source libraries in Python for data analysis.
- be introduced to key terms: data analytics, big data, data manipulation, data science, machine learning, open source libraries, and Jupyter.
Sarina Lim is an adjunct professor at Touro College and is on the Data & Insight Team at Instruction Partners. Sarina previously worked at The New York City Department of Education as an analyst in the central organization as well as a math and computer science teacher at a large high school. Prior to joining the education field as a Teach for America corps member, she worked at The Boeing Company in finance and strategy teams.
