Deep Equity and Hispanic-Serving Institutions
This event is the second of a six-part series. The Deep Equity Now series is about preparing educators to elevate beyond the safe and performative aspect of equity, into the space that Baldwin describes as "go[ing] for broke."
It is here that our work becomes transformative, as we learn how to put it all on the line.
This webinar will take place on February 23, 12:30 pm (PST)/ 3:30 pm (EST).
A Hispanic-Serving Institution is a designation that represents that an institution of higher education has a full-time undergraduate enrollment of at least 25% Hispanic students. But what does this really mean, and more importantly, what ethical, moral, legal responsibilities come with this designation? In this Deep Equity session, we are talking “All of the Above.” Our presenter Dr. Cuellar’s research and lived experiences will lend to an enriching conversation on how institutions of higher education can better ensure equitable outcomes for Hispanic students, and how communities can hold these institutions accountable.
