Note: Participation in the Commencement Exercises does not necessarily mean that a student has graduated. Graduation is certified officially by the Office of the Registrar only after auditing the student's record for completion of all certificate or degree requirements.
Commencement Packets
Commencement Packets include your cap and gown and tickets to Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. Candidates are expected to pick up their Commencement Packets in person. In the event that you are unable to pick up your packet, you may send a representative who must present the following:
- A signed letter from you authorizing the pick up.
- A copy of your photo ID.
Caps and Gowns
June 2013 graduates must order their caps and gowns online from Oak Hall.

Commencement Speaker
Olajide Williams, MD, Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer of Neurology, Columbia University; Founder, HIP HOP Public Health, Harlem Hospital
Dr Olajide Williams is a graduate of the University of Lagos Medical School in Nigeria and the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. His residency training in neurology and fellowship training in neuromuscular disease were completed at Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Williams is currently Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer of Neurology at Columbia University where he is also an Associate Professor of Neurology. Dr Williams is a practicing physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he is Director of Acute Stroke Services. He is renowned for his work in the public health field as the Founder and President of Hip Hop Public Health, an organization committed to the development of innovative multimedia solutions for health behavior change in high-risk communities using hip hop music. Hip Hop Public Health visits numerous metropolitan area schools throughout the year, providing special assemblies and classroom presentations that encourage healthy living and healthy lifestyles
Dr. Williams is an expert in stroke disparities research. His work is funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke NINDS), the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), the New York City Department of Health (NYCDOH), the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and the United States Department of Education (USDE). Dr Williams is a national spokesperson for the American Stroke Association, a participant on White House roundtables on health, and a recipient of numerous state and national honors including a New York State Proclamation, a Congressional Citation, a National Humanism in Medicine Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges, and a Distinguished Teacher Award from Columbia University. In 2012, Dr Williams was named to FAST COMPANY magazines’ 100 Most Creative People in Business list and to The ROOT’s 100 Most Influential Black People in America list.
Serving as Commencement Speaker for the Class of 2012-2013 marks the second time Dr. Williams has addressed our graduates, having also delivered the commencement speech to the Class of 2006-2007.

Each candidate will receive (2) Guest Tickets.
Please make sure that family members and guests arrive with their tickets. Under no circumstances will Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center security and personnel admit guests into the venue without tickets.

Graduation Portraits for Touro College can we taken at Thornton Studio Photographers. 150 West 25th Street Ground Floor, between 6th and 7th Avenues (C, E, #1, F, N, M, & R to 23rd St. Station)
Monday ~ Friday 9am ~ 5pm, Saturdays 10am ~ 4pm
There is a $ 10.00 sitting fee. Please dress professionally and note that your hands may show in certain poses. Graduation cap & gown will be provided.
