Leadership Academy at Touro University
Touro University seeks to identify and retain skilled academic talent by providing them with an opportunity to participate in an innovative management preparation academy. The Leadership Academy at Touro University will build on the individual strengths of the participants through workshops, seminars, and team-building experiences designed to prepare participants for potential advancement and increased managerial responsibilities.
The Leadership Academy at Touro University is an innovative program that prepares participants to develop and refine the skills and competencies needed to assume successively advanced leadership positions. As a pathway for professional growth, the Academy builds on the strengths of the individual participants through workshops, seminars, and team-building experiences that are designed to enhance an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in higher education today. A goal is to foster greater exposure to the scope of the various locations, schools, programs, and departments of Touro University. Sessions focus on deepening skills through discussion and practical experience with leadership foundations such as problem-solving, communication, and collaboration in higher education.
The program consists of nine full-day sessions, on one Wednesday each month, beginning January 22, 2025, ending December 10, 2025, excluding the months of July, August and November. The first and last sessions will be held in New York City. The supervisor supporting out-of-state applicants is asked to ensure that the participant will be provided with travel expenses in accordance with Touro University procedures for attendance at out-of-state conferences. Other sessions are held virtually. Participation requires a commitment to attend all nine sessions.
