Improving student learning is part of academe's ethos. Yet, higher education has little assessment evidence of such improvement. In this session, we will explore what improvement looks like and its inextricable link with change and assessment. Further, attendees will learn how to gear their practices toward improvement—in their class, program, and beyond.

Dr. Keston Fulcher
Dr. Keston Fulcher is the Executive Director of the Center for Assessment & Research Studies at James Madison University. He is co-author of Learning Improvement at Scale: A How-To Guide for Higher Education. Dr. Fulcher also serves on the advisory panel to the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA), collaborates extensively with the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis, and is one of the founders of the Learning Improvement Community.
